Position Profile and Requirements


To handle a specific purchase category or group of purchase categories, such as spare parts, services, specific store etc. To be in close cooperation with budget owners (Technical & HSQE dept). To support, cooperate closely and guide as necessary for his/her responsible categories ESMH Senior Purchasers, Purchasers & Junior Purchaser.


• Develop the category strategy and define the sourcing pipeline
• Identify and prioritize category opportunities / synergies and quantify potential benefits
• Develop category plan and track updates
• Develop category cards to ensure proper guidance for tactical sourcing execution
• Boost and maintain relationships with the business counterparts (Technical & HSQE Dept) to facilitate the demand planning
• Plan and execute strategic sourcing projects/ contract renewal
• Negotiate contracts/ framework agreements
• Define and execute supplier relationship management strategy according to specific segment/ relationship type
• Monitor performance & manage supplier’s relationship
• Set up KPI metrics and define target for supplier management
• Rationalize and optimize the supply base
• Perform Procurement Intelligence, conduct market/ industry analysis, identify and select sources of information

• Optimize transactional processes, provide input for catalogues/contracts administration and Category cards
• Define P2P Strategy, contribute in buying channel strategy definition and optimization
• Provide e-Sourcing Services, conduct online RFx (using e-sourcing platforms), define best sourcing approach (eauctions where possible


Formal education: University Degree, Master or MBA is an asset
Experience: At least 5 years of experience working in the category, industry alignment preferred, experience in a cross cultural environment, ERP and other e-procurement tools experiences is an advantage
Other qualifications: Deep knowledge of category / market / industry, excellent PC skills, organization and communication skills, teamwork, negotiation skills
Languages: Advanced English, other European language is an asset.
