Senior management member: Konstantinos Papoutsis
Biography
Konstantinos Papoutsis joined Euronav in 2021 as the Company’s first-ever Sustainability Manager. Before that, he held various positions in transport sustainability, in companies active in industry to research and academia.
Konstantinos started his career in engineering positions in the construction and surveying sector. He then worked as a research associate at a leading Greek R&D institution. As an associate, he developed and managed EU-funded projects related to sustainable mobility and blue economy. When serving in the academic sector, Konstantinos conducted FWO-funded research at the University of Antwerp with a focus on transportation externalities.
Prior to joining Euronav, he held the role of Sustainability Lead of the EMEA Supply Chain activities for a top multinational retail brand, where he created and drove corporate strategy and business development. He has participated in several EU-wide initiatives and panels related to sustainability in transport operations and he is a member of the Freight Transport Committee of the Hellenic Institute of transportation Engineers.
Konstantinos has an engineering academic background with a Master in Transportation Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He also holds a joint Ph.D. from University of Antwerp and University of Thessaly, under the research field of retail logistics and sustainability.
