Position Profile and Requirements


Euronav Ship Management Hellas is seeking a Technical Superintendent for the Athens 0ffice, who will be
reporting to the Ship Technical Manager, and will be responsible for the overall technical management of an
assigned number of vessels (4 to 6).


Review of all information and documents received from the vessels concerning:
a. Daily performance/voyage summary messages
b. Maintenance (PMS and troubleshooting)
c. Proper input of spares with work done/Inventory update
d. Voyage repairs
e. Outstandings and repair requirements
f. Requisitions for stores and spares
g. Technical forms review

  • Inspect ships at ports and during short voyages to evaluate condition, performance and Officers’
    ability/conduct and reporting
  • Plan, monitor and manage dry-dockings and major scheduled and unscheduled repairs
  • Monitor vessel performance and ensure effective follow-up actions
  • Prepare and manage assigned vessels’ budgets and operating expenditure
  • Provide day to day technical and operational support and guidance to assigned vessels
  • Follow up new Flag/Class requirements
  • Work closely with other Superintendents and provide technical advice to all Company Departments as
  • Coaching and developing senior Officers


Formal education: University Degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering or alternatively in Mechanical
Experience: Working experience of 4 - 6 years in a relevant position in a shipping company, experience in tankers
would be an asset
Other qualifications:

  • Ability and willingness to travel abroad
  • Demonstrating excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Problem solving, decision making and leadership skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, meeting demanding deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and under pressure
  • Hard working with commitment to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel)

Languages: Fluent English written and spoken; any language additional to native is an asset
